The Door of Hope Foundation for Teenage Mothers was founded in 2020 by a dedicated individual with a vision to help teenage mothers in Uganda. Seeing the struggles of young mothers facing stigma, poverty, and limited opportunities, the foundation began with a small group, offering vocational training in tailoring, garment cutting, and crafts.
What started as a small initiative grew into a supportive community, providing not just skills but emotional support and empowerment. Today, the foundation continues to uplift teenage mothers, helping them overcome challenges and build brighter futures for themselves and their children.
Door of Hope Foundation for Teenage Mothers was founded in 2020 with a vision to address the pressing challenges faced by teenage mothers in Uganda. Recognizing the limited opportunities and support available for these young women, the foundation was born out of a desire to empower teenage mothers who often face social stigmatization, financial hardships, and a lack of access to education and skills development.
From our humble beginnings, we started with just a handful of teenage mothers, providing them with vocational training in tailoring and crafts. Our focus was on equipping them with skills that would enable them to earn an income and support themselves and their children. Over time, our programs expanded to include hairdressing, garment cutting, and emotional counseling, recognizing the importance of holistic support.
In just a few years, the foundation has become a beacon of hope for teenage mothers across Uganda, helping them rewrite their stories and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
We offer courses in Tailoring, Garment Cutting, Hairdressing, and Handicrafts, providing hands-on training that leads to certifications. Alongside vocational skills, we offer counseling, mentorship, and life skills development to foster personal growth and resilience.
Through our work, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and create lasting change in the lives of teenage mothers and their families.
